Contribute to Hap Hazard

The success of this project depends in large part on the contributions of its users; we do not only welcome comments, criticisms, amendments, additions, and notes--we actually solicit, even commission them. Contributions can range, obviously, from the most mundane to the most scholarly. We encourage interventions on all levels. Possible types of contribution include:
  • Notification of error(s) in the text or annotation of an edition
  • Criticism or commendation of layout, style, argument, etc.
  • Comments on annotations: suggestions, criticisms, additions, etc.
  • Submission or recommendation of illustrations
  • Contribution of an annotation or gloss, textual or interpretive
  • Contribution of a longer commentary, on a specific passage or on an entire work, of any persuasion: historical, bibliographical, literary, etc.
  • Submission of a transcribed, annotated, or fully edited manuscript text relating to Spenser
  • Suggestions for bibliographies associated with particular editions
These are just some of the obvious ways in which you might get involved. You will, no doubt, think of others.

All serious contributions to the project are archived with the contributor's name and whatever biographical information she or he sees fit to include; contributor profiles are available in an alphabetical index, and a chronological register of recent contributions can be accessed through this and other pages on the site. In addition, individual contributions are recorded in the notes to the various editions, and contributed essays and commentaries are attributed in standard form and publicized by electronic means to the Spenser community.

If you would like to contribute to Hap Hazard, or offer any kind of comment or criticism, please write to the editor, Andrew Zurcher, at aez20@cus.cam.ac.uk.
