Judith E Wilson Drama Studio

The Studio , located in the basement of the English Faculty, is 11 metres in length x 9 metres wide and 5 metres high (to lighting grid). It has a sprung dance floor and a flat acoustic. It has a full lighting-rig (details below), mixing desk and sound system. There are 14 1m x 2m platforms, with legs of various heights, which can be used as either seating or staging. The room has a maximum capacity of 70 persons, excluding performers, but this makes the performing area extremely limited: the suggested practicable maximum capacity is 50.

Booking

While primarily a resource for members of the English Faculty, the studio is free to book for all members of the University for rehearsals, works-shops, seminars and performances. There is no performance license, so all performances must be free of charge and open to all. Access is between 9am and 11pm.
