After spending a week in the English Faculty Library, I can easily say that I could not have enjoyed my work experience week more anywhere else. I believe it was after the first day that I wanted to read just about every book I came across, though I suppose this is what one would expect from working in such an amazing library that was so well kept by its faculty.
For each task given to me, the faculty was kind and allowed me to work at my own pace. Often I would find the environment I was working in so relaxed that I continued working through some of my breaks happily, (as odd as it seemed to some). The tasks I was trusted with consisted of taking books from the returns and placing them back into their proper places, (simple once you understand the organisation system, as complex as it may appear at first), taking comments from the visitors book and placing them into a power point slide show, and finally, the DVD project. Editing the categories of the Shakespeare DVDs and labelling them with the new information was possibly the most demanding task since it required some I.T. knowledge and patience.
The calm atmosphere and friendly staff members here at the English Faculty Library have truly made this a memorable experience for me. Thank you all very much!
