He is in the act of drawing a long sword. Above him a devil. To either side, knights in mail armour push aside the kneeling mothers in order to butcher their infants. In the niches are six figures of prophets. Below, armed combat is taking place between two half-human grotesques with faces between their legs. Warner 1912, p.26
