Death, Assumption and Coronation of the Virgin Mary

Image 524 In this 1480 stained glass panel (East Harling, Norfolk: East window, E3), the Virgin Mary stands in a mandorla, surrounded by a glory of rays and adored by five angels with spreading wings. A golden crown hovers over Mary's head as she is taken up into heaven. Woodforde 1950, p.49 (see also Image 511)
