Dr Sarah Dillon gives an interview to the Times Higher about the launch of the new British Association for Contemporary Literary Studies which she will Chair from January 2018. BACLS opens for membership in January 2017 with the following mission statement:

The British Association for Contemporary Literary Studies brings together scholars and practitioners from across the UK and beyond in order to explore the current moment and its contexts. We are committed to literary studies in the broadest sense, including written, visual, performative and audible texts, in English and in other languages. We aim to foster research at every level and to support both practice and pedagogy.

In the interview Dr Dillon talks about the significance, diversity and popularity of contemporary literary studies, and about the crucial importance of the critical skills derived from the study of literature.
