I doe ordeyne That the warden shall vppon the first daie of

whom hee shall thincke Fittest to bee Porter for the rest of that in-

seaven of the Clock, and then to open the foregate, And to
shutt it att eight of the Clock in the Evening, during that tyme,
And to carry the keyes to the warden each night: And from
the feast of Sainct michaell vnto the Feast of the Anuntiation
to open the Gates about eight in the morninge, And to
shutt them att Seaven of the Clock att night, and then to
carrie the Keyes to the warden. ./

skill in any mannuall trade, to worke on the same within the Hospitall
or without, thereby to gett some parte of their Livinge: Or for
any of the Brethren, or Sisters, beeing hable in bodie to exercise
themselues in any honnest handie labowr of the bodie abroade: Yet so as that
without speciall Leaue of the warden, they doe not in such respect lodge
out of the hospitall aboue <any o> one night in any one weeke.
