British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships 2020/21

The Faculty of English and Department of Anglo Saxon Norse and Celtic welcome applications for British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships. The aim of the British Academy in making these awards is to offer opportunities for outstanding early-career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment which will develop their curriculum vitae and improve their prospects of obtaining permanent lecturing posts by the end of the Fellowship. The primary emphasis is on completion of a significant piece of publishable research, which will be assisted by full membership of an academic community of established scholars working in similar fields.

Selection of those candidates whose application to the British Academy will be supported by the Faculty of English will take place by competition firstly within the Faculty, and secondly by an internal competition across all disciplines within the University of Cambridge. The Faculty will then provide support to the selected candidates in the preparation of the final application to the BA.

Applications to the Faculty should consist of the following:

  • a completed version of the attached form
  • a two page CV, including the dates on which you took your PhD viva and on which you were awarded the PhD;
  • a list of publications (not exceeding one side);
  • two letters of reference, at least one of which should be from outside Cambridge.
