We insist on integrating our feelings into our environment—not only in seeking sympathy, affirmation, or reassurance from the fellow feelers who make up our social world, but in locating feeling in the extra-human conditions of our material world.     'how' I don't think it matters because mental moods ebb and flow like the tide. What remains constant is the flow of thinking. What is miraculous is that I think not what I think and feel.
