Biographical Information

Before joining Cambridge, I completed my B.A. in English at Vassar College, where I also studied Film. My MPhil dissertation examines the tectonic shifts in the representation of gender and sexual identities in 1920s Paris and 1990s Taiwan, with a particular focus on Radclyffe Hall's The Well of Loneliness (1928) and Qiu Miaojin's Notes of a Crocodile (1994).

Research Interests

Modern and contemporary fiction and poetry; gender and sexuality; affect; autofiction; life-writing; women filmmakers; film aesthetics.
