Welcome to visiting scholar Laura Saetveit Miles

Laura Saetveit Miles, førsteamanuensis (associate professor) of English literature at the University of Bergen, Norway, will be in Cambridge for Thursday 7 May and Friday 8 May. She will be consulting some manuscripts at Trinity College Library, related to her next book project on the English cult of St. Bridget of Sweden, and for presentations at EBS and Leeds this summer. On Wednesday, Laura will give a lecture at the Oxford Medieval Seminar, titled “Christine de Pizan and Julian of Norwich in Conversation,” as part of her current book project on the scene of the Annunciation in medieval English culture. Last July Speculum published her article, “The Origins and Development of the Virgin Mary’s Book at the Annunciation,” which can be downloaded, along with her other publications, at https://laurasaetveitmiles.wordpress.com/academic-work/publications/.
She’s happy to be back in Cambridge, however briefly, as she completed her MPhil in Medieval English Literature here in 2004-2005. Her email is laura.miles[at]gmail.com.
