In this session we will visit the visual poetics exhibition in the Benson Gallery of the English Faculty Library.

Choose one of the works on display and consider how you might use it as the starting point for your own visual poetics.

You might consider writing your poem for a particular site or format outside of a book:

postcard

poster

placard

bookmark

What would be the different aspects that you would need to consider if you were writing a piece of work specifically written for a site off the page?

What different issues of audience arise?

In small groups decide on a format off the page and write a series of visual poems for this format / site.
