Anyone who believes in the fundamental importance of public libraries and their contents will be interested to read the damning speech made by novelist Philip Pullman in response to news that his local libraries in Oxfordshire are threatened by public funding cuts. February 3rd, 2011 at 15:05On this subject, CMT members may be interested to know that a ‘Save Our Libraries flashmob’ is being held this Saturday (5th February) in the Grand Arcade, 11.00am-1.00pm.
Those thinking of attending are encouraged to bring their favourite material text for a protest ‘read-aloud’.
