MARTIN YOUNG is Lecturer in Theatre and Technology at Birkbeck, University of London. His research primarily focuses on backstage labour and the political economy of the theatre industry (in particular on stage management and technical theatre), examining the relationship between labour and the theatre’s organisational systems, industrial character and technological advances.
