Juliette Bretan has been awarded a one-month Fellowship at the Nordost Institut in Lüneburg, to look at the idea of the study of Eastern Europe in English and European culture.

The Nordost Institut is a research institution focusing on the history and culture of Germans in northeastern Europe as well as the history and culture of Poland, the Baltic states, Russia and the states that succeeded the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It is part of the University of Hamburg and cooperates with numerous universities and research institutions in Eastern Europe.
