#InkyCloak a new #SlowShakespeare daily blog

#InkyCloak a new #SlowShakespeare daily blog reading HAMLET starts tomorrow, 1 October 2024. It follows continuously on my #SlowShakespeare site from my two previous blogs, #2Dudes1Dog and #BurningBarge. Posts go up around 9am every day, and are tweeted on what I still refer to as twitter (@starcrossed2018) and also posted on Bluesy (@starcrossed2018.bsky.social) although there may be a delay there. I’ll try to post an appropriate production or other relevant image with every post on twitter. I check comments regularly on all my blogs and respond – always pleased to hear from teachers and students in particular!

  1. Hurrah! So excited for the return of Slow Shakespeare and for Hamlet! Surprisingly I only saw the play for the first time recently with Michelle Terry in the title role at Shakespeare’s Globe, and I’m looking forward to the analysis. I should be completing my final year for English Literature within the next couple of years after a study break, and Hamlet is one of the set texts. Eager to get a head start with your insights 🙂

    1. It is a CRACKING play. Big and long though! I don’t know about head starts but thank you for continuing to read 🙂

  2. Well Hester I have shared this with my A level English literature students to follow along, as we have just started studying the play, so thank you!

    1. No pressure then…. How exciting to be starting Hamlet! I am trying to imagine what it’s like not to know what’s coming, a bit? it’s interesting that synopses etc tend to start with the backstory, not the actual beginning, I think?
