Dr Lloyd Meadhbh Houston’s monograph, Irish Modernism and the Politics of Sexual Health (OUP, 2023), was Highly Commended by the judges of the 2024 British Association for Irish Studies Book Prize at a ceremony at the Irish Embassy in London. The judges described the book as a ‘notable and arresting’ study that provides ‘a distinctively new perspective’ on ‘some of the most celebrated works in the Irish literary canon’, and which they expected to see ‘listed as a key text in the field in the years to come.’
