‘Revisiting the Ancient Mediterranean World at the British Museum’ is a joint seminar of the Department of Greece and Rome at the British Museum and the Institute of Classical Studies (School of Advanced Studies, University of London).
Wednesday 5 February 2025
4pm to 6.30pm
Location: room 264, Second Floor, Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HU
The other speakers are Hardeep Dhindsa (KCL) and Kate Nichols (Birmingham).
The seminar series takes place in the context of the planned redesign of the British Museum’s ‘Western Range’, including all the galleries devoted to the ancient Mediterranean world, and is designed as an open forum for the discussion of the British Museum’s collections: for the reassessment of individual monuments or objects; thematic approaches; explorations of collection history; or for wider questions of ‘narrative’ and the interconnections between cultures.
