UCAS Code: Q300
Typical A Level offer: A*AA
IB: 40-42 points, with 776 at Higher Level
English is available as a course of study at all Cambridge colleges, and all require an A Level/IB Higher Level (or equivalent) English Literature or English Language and Literature. Where English Literature is not offered as a standalone subject at an applicant's school or college, the combined English Language and Literature A Level is acceptable.
Modern and classical languages and History are also useful subjects, though they are by no means essential, and many successful applicants have studied Mathematics and science subjects.
All undergraduate admissions decisions are the responsibility of the Cambridge Colleges and many have College-specific requirements. Colleges may require the completion of an Admissions Test, or the submission of written work prior to interview. See Course Requirements for further information, and check the websites of individual colleges.
