Agha Shahid Ali Memorial Event

Agha Shahid Ali was a Kashmiri-American poet, translator, and teacher. He published 8 poetry collections, one book translating Faiz Ahmed Faiz and an academic treatment of T.S. Eliot. Widely regarded as the most celebrated Kashmiri anglophone poet, his collection The Country Without a Post Office is constantly cited by Kashmiri authors and academics. This event celebrates his life and marks the 20th anniversary of his death by remembering him and exploring his legacy.

Join us for a reading and discussion with the poet’s brother, followed by an academic panel discussing his legacy featuring Suvir Kaul, Ananya Jahanara Kabir, Huzaifa Pandit and Feroz Rather.
