Tall Tales:Giants in Literature
Saturday 20th October 2018
12:30-1:10pm in the Judith E Wilson Drama Studio,
English Faculty, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DP
Why do we like reading about giants?
What ideas do writers express through them?
Let’s visit the realm of giants and see what we can discover!
This illustrated talk by Dr Amy Morris (Faculty of English) includes giants
from children’s stories (The BFG and The Selfish Giant), giants from literary classics
(Pilgrim’s Progress, Gulliver’s Travels), and giants you probably haven’t met yet.
It is aimed at a mixed audience of adults and children.
Free to attend but booking required 01223 766766
